Sad News of the Day: Kathleen Edward, the Trenton, Michigan, girl who endured indefensible bullying at the hands of a neighbor, passed away last night of pneumonia following a hard-fought bout with Huntington’s Disease. She was 9 years old.
“Kathleen far exceeded our expectations of survival. She’s the strongest little girl I ever met in my entire life, and she didn’t quit fighting,” said a family friend. “Now she gets to go into the arms of her mother, Laura.”
Kathleen’s mom also died of Huntington’s when she was just 24.
The story of Kathleen and her hardship landed on the front page of many media outlets after it was revealed that she was the victim of merciless taunting by a neighbor.
Jennifer Petkov reportedly posted an image of a skull and crossbones on Facebook underneath a photo of Kathleen. It was also reported that Petkov would occasionally drive around the neighborhood in a truck labeled “Death Machine” that was pulling a mock coffin.
According to the family friend, Michelle Yerigian, Petkov is due to appear in cout next week.
“This little girl touched a lot of people’s lives and not just in Michigan, but across the world,” said Yerigian. “She has friends from Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan, people all over the world have reached out to this little girl and the world is now a sadder place without her in it. But, I think she taught us a very strong lesson in that faith, hope and love can just do amazing things.”

Wait… this bully was 33? A 33 year old photoshopping images of a 9 year old dead? A 33 year old driving a hearse past a 9 year olds house? Because it rubs their ass raw? What the hell kind of demented person would do that? I have NEVER in my LIFE met someone that cruel, and I’ve known cruel human beings. Reading all the past stories about this makes me so sad.
More importantly….since when is early onset huntington disease a thing?
